Ryotaro Yashiro (八代 涼太郎, Yashiro Ryōtarō) is the assistant to the detective Hijiri Matsubase whose first appearance is Chapter 18.
Appearance[]
Yashiro is a tall, slender man with short, blonde hair.
He wears a business suit while working, but he will wear casual clothes when not on duty. People often call him 'weak,' but this is probably more about his easy-going appearance, and not because of his physique. Hijiri Matsubase's build is about the same as Onii-san's.
Personality[]
Yashiro is an upbeat guy, but is frequently annoyed by his unruly boss. He is often forced to be Hijiri Matsubase's maid, and also does what he can to defuse situations Hijiri has turned hostile. Yashiro is shocked by the bizarre nature of XXX-chan's disappearance, due to his normal upbringing.
History[]
Yashiro started working as Hijiri Matsubase's assistant soon before the manga started. He took the job only because he needed work, not out of a desire to solve crimes.

Etymology[]
- The name Ryotaro means "cool, refreshing" (涼) (ryo), "thick, big, great" (太) (ta) and "son" (郎) (ro).
- Ryotaro's surname Yashiro means "eight" (八) (ya) and "generation" (代) (shiro).
